Of course, <a class=\"wpgallery\" title=\"The Detroit News: &quot;Downsize Detroit: Strengthen city by phasing out depleted neighborhoods&quot; by John Mogk\" href=\"http:\/\/www.detnews.com\/article\/20091203\/OPINION01\/912030346\/1008\/Downsize-Detroit--Strengthen-city-by-phasing-out-depleted-neighborhoods\" target=\"_blank\">this<\/a> was probably written by some lecturing\/hectoring suburbanite, but, I think it captures quite nicely the predicament the-city-built-by-the-deathmobile-destroyed-by-the-deathmobile finds itself in. And while the self-satisfied suburbanites out there in car-only Oakland County hector about the ills of Detroit, they, too, are swirling around the same toilet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Detroit, as a city is now untenable.
