Now she touts his endorsement.<\/p>\n<p>But that is minor compared to her other lurch rightward.<\/p>\n<p>During the recent county executive race she endorsed Zach Brandon.<\/p>\n<p>Zach.<\/p>\n<p>Brandon.<\/p>\n<p>This was no random endorsement. She was also on his campaign committee. Brandon you might recall, was <a title=\"The Badger Herald: &quot;Brandon brings his own \u2018voice\u2019,&quot; by Grace Earle\" href=\"http:\/\/badgerherald.com\/news\/2006\/03\/30\/brandon_brings_his_o.php\" target=\"_blank\">one of the most conservative members of the Madison Common Council.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Selkowe&#8217;s Brandon endorsement is indefensible, and here&#8217;s why.<\/p>\n<p>Brandon has long been a proud Democratic Leadership Council member: \u201cI am a member of the Democratic Leadership Council, is that OK?\u201d (<a title=\"Madison.com: &quot;POLITICIANS MEDITATE ON PARTY CONFUSION,&quot; by Melanie Conklin\" href=\"http:\/\/host.madison.com\/news\/article_f311e27d-d9a5-5e7e-a83e-3ee80e38dc96.html\" target=\"_blank\">In response to a Republican inquiry in which they understandably thought he was one of theirs!<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>His DLC credentials define Brandon. You&#8217;ll even find those credentials <a title=\"DemocraticUnderground.com: &quot;Membership List for the DLC&quot;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.democraticunderground.com\/discuss\/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&amp;forum=104&amp;topic_id=5392788&amp;mesg_id=5395511\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> (note that the DLC has subsequently taken down their membership list given that it said membership has become an albatross around the neck of many a Dem). He has never renounced those ties. That disgusting Republican trojan horse, you might recall, was established with Koch bros. cash (<a title=\"Americablog: Koch Industries Gave to DLC\" href=\"http:\/\/www.americablog.com\/2010\/08\/koch-industries-gave-funding-to-dlc-and.html\" target=\"_blank\">More on Koch bros. funding of DLC<\/a>;\u00a0<a title=\"What's the Matter With Kansas? by Thomas Frank\" href=\"http:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=AJKrMcOyQ3wC&amp;pg=PA82&amp;lpg=PA82&amp;dq=Thomas+Frank+Democratic+Leadership+Council+Koch&amp;source=bl&amp;ots=AFt1HDXkze&amp;sig=SiSNj5SXzXEWIeFiN_Zd3_56OO4&amp;hl=en&amp;ei=PXMUTp62PM240AHRgO3rCA&amp;sa=X&amp;oi=book_result&amp;ct=result&amp;resnum=2&amp;ved=0CCAQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&amp;q&amp;f=false\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas Frank even wrote about it in his 2004 book, <\/a><em><a title=\"What's the Matter With Kansas? by Thomas Frank\" href=\"http:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=AJKrMcOyQ3wC&amp;pg=PA82&amp;lpg=PA82&amp;dq=Thomas+Frank+Democratic+Leadership+Council+Koch&amp;source=bl&amp;ots=AFt1HDXkze&amp;sig=SiSNj5SXzXEWIeFiN_Zd3_56OO4&amp;hl=en&amp;ei=PXMUTp62PM240AHRgO3rCA&amp;sa=X&amp;oi=book_result&amp;ct=result&amp;resnum=2&amp;ved=0CCAQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&amp;q&amp;f=false\" target=\"_blank\">What&#8217;s the Matter with Kansas<\/a><\/em>; yet more <a title=\"Democrats.com: The Rightwing Koch Brothers Fund the DLC\" href=\"http:\/\/www.democrats.com\/node\/7789\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>The DLC is the organization that brought you NAFTA, WTO, welfare \u201creform,\u201d school vouchers and other neo-con ideas brought to the fore by conservative Democrats.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Office of the Governor: Scott Walker\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wisgov.state.wi.us\/\" target=\"_blank\">And we know what Koch ca$h hath wrought in the state of Wisconsin&#8230;.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Brandon is very beautiful though. Paul Ryan writ small.<\/p>\n<p>So I suppose one shouldn\u2019t personally fault Selkowe for falling in love with him. But politically, by cozying up to a shameless Koch disciple, well, sorry folks, she is no friend of the teachers and other public servants she professes to defend.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, she has cozied up with the likes of other rightists such as Mark Clear (another very conservative city council member who was always in league with Brandon in trashing anything &amp; everything that made Madison not Peoria) and the Madison Professional Police Association (<a title=\"TheDailyPage.com: &quot;Basford's Spin City: Billboards?
