Its conduct since inception has been despicable, and that name is so utterly, well, as James Fallows of the Atlantic just put it, <strong><em> <\/em><\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/doc\/200907\/ideas-homeland-security\"><strong><em>teutono-Soviet<\/em><\/strong><em> <\/em><\/a><em>. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>I couldn&#8217;t have said it better.<\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em>He suggests Department of Civil Security.<\/p>\n<p>It might be fantasy, hope against hope &amp; all that, but maybe, just maybe function might follow form and we&#8217;d get more civilized behavior out of this Stalinistic organization if it had a more civilized name.<\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Heimatssicherheitsdienst: What&#8217;s in a revolting name?
